Sainsbury’s has launched a new online recruitment and talent acquisition solution for all vacancies within the Store Support Centre. Working with online recruitment solutions experts Changeworknow the online system is Changeworknow’s brand new award winning platform launched at the back end of 2010.
The new system features the latest and most advanced technologies on the market and will enable Sainsbury’s not only to drive down agency costs but create greater efficiencies in the recruitment process with features such as tag clouding, activity prioritisation cues and extensive use of tooltip for a much improved recruiter and manager experience.
The system also incorporates a bespoke situational and judgement assessment for all store support roles as well as third party psychometric testing integration within the recruitment process.
Lisa Proctor, Sales and Marketing Director, explains “This new system has been designed to give recruiters and managers significantly more efficiencies in how applicants are managed and communicated with. The system interface is highly intuitive and challenges all the existing paradigms of how a traditional applicant tracking system should be used. The extensive talent pooling capability will ensure that Sainsbury’s provide a great service to all applicants that show potential for future roles which will eventually drive down any reliance on agencies”.

Mitchell and Butlers Implements New Recruitment Technology for all Pubs
Mitchell and Butlers, the leading operator of restaurants and pubs in the UK has extended its online recruitment capability to include all jobs in restaurants and pubs. Three years ago an online recruitment system was launched for management roles. The highly successful approach has now been extended within the business so that all pubs and restaurants can now advertise their vacancies to the internal and external population.
Working with online recruitment specialists Changeworknow, a highly innovative process has been designed to be used by over 1600 restaurant and pub managers. Lisa Proctor, Sales and Marketing Director at Changeworknow comments “The extension of the online strategy to include the highest volume recruitment at Mitchells and Butlers puts technology at the heart of the recruitment strategy. By using the manager portal designed specifically for busy operational managers in distributed sites the business will be able to recruit quality people quickly. A key consideration is to provide a great service to all candidates which is in line with the great service that Mitchells and Butlers strives hard to offer to its customers”.
The new process also means that employees can apply for vacancies as the system links to the internal employee communication and engagement portal. Employees will now be able to look for career opportunities across all brands within the group which includes well known high street brands such as Browns, O’Neills and All Bar One.

Award Time Again
It doesn't seem that long ago that we were attending an HR award dinner in London picking up the Personnel Today Award for Excellence in HR through Technology. In fact that was four months ago and tonight the CNL team will be attending the ONREC awards dinner as finalist.
We have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Technical Innovation category. We normally enter with a client but this award recognises the incredible effort of our internal team to produce the most innovative online recruitment system on the market in the UK. The technology is state of the art, the functionality is rich and highly flexible and the look and feel of the whole system is modern and extremely appealing to users.
How do we know this? Well our clients have told us and so have companies who see it for the first time. It is normal practice for companies to see a few "suppliers" when selecting a recruitment system and without exception we get the feedback that ours is the most up to date, appealing, feature rich and modern. All very good news for us as we continue to add big brands to our client list.
So tonight is a very big "thank you" to the team for all your hard work and dedication. The champagne will be well deserved and whether we win or not we will come away in the knowledge that we do have THE best solution on the market. Just ask any of our clients!

Recruiting the right people gains customer approval for Waterstones Booksellers
We were thrilled to see that Waterstones currently tops the leader board on the Mary Portas Secret Shopper List of ‘The Best Shops in Britain’. Based on an aggregate score of comments left by real customers it’s clear to see that employees at Waterstones really know how to deliver brand enhancing customer service.
How do they do it? Their starting point is to recruit and select the best people and they pay close attention to something often overlooked in recruitment: fit for the job ie will candidates love doing what the job requires of them. For Waterstones that means living their hugely customer service oriented values.
With help from Changeworknow, their online recruitment process has been custom designed to help candidates assess themselves against the important skills needed to do the job AND those all important behaviours or motivations.
Anyone may be able to operate a cash register; but not everyone does it with a genuine smile, a passion for the product and a sense of satisfaction that the customer has got what they want.
By having on online process that highlights those candidates who are a good fit against skills AND motivations, the quality of hires has really improved and it’s the customer’s who are benefitting and going out of their way to vote them number one!
Now that’s got to be good for business.

An Amazing Use of New Technology - that's Changeworknow!
Please forgive us as it is a week on and we continue to blog about the award win. Well rightly so we think as it was an amazing achievement. The offical photos of the night are now for public viewing on the Personnel Today website and we are particuarly proud of the judges comments:
"River Island combined traditional technology and social media in an innovative way - an amazing use of new technology in recruitment."
We think that your new technology lauched this year is "amazing" and good to think that others are starting to agree too. Only yesterday I received an email from an HR professional who said that " our team think Changeworknow's system is one of the best systems out there". How right she is!
Anyway back to last week's win and here we are collecting our award...

Personnel Today Award winners!
This morning the Changeworknow team and River Island are waking with huge smiles on their faces. Last night we were triumphant in winning the Personnel Today award for Excellence in HR through Technology at the annual awards dinner at the Park Lane Hilton.

It was a great night and we are thrilled that our work and partnership with River Island has been recognised in these prestigious awards. I know I am biased but it was so well deserved. The combination of great leading edge technology, super efficient processes and a forward thinking recruitment team at River Island led to this success.
Well done to everyone - great job!
