We are hoping that this week is going to be a good one. And we are not just talking about the weather! We will be starting off the work week tonight at the HR Excellence Award Dinner at the Park Lane Hilton in London as River Island have been shortlisted in the category "Most Innovative Use of Technology".
We are one of just three finalists and are up against BSkyB and Cabot Financial. The Changeworknow team are to be joined by clients from NET-A-PORTER and Ladbrokes to enjoy the evenings celebrations. Whatever the result if the last award ceremony is anything to go by it will be a fun filled night.
River Island won a prestigious Personnel Today award at the end of 2010. It is very fitting that they are up for yet another top award as the team have really embraced recruitment technology with outstanding results.
We are all looking forward to tonight's event. A chance to celebrate whatever the result. Fingers crossed and good luck!

Award Time Again
It doesn't seem that long ago that we were attending an HR award dinner in London picking up the Personnel Today Award for Excellence in HR through Technology. In fact that was four months ago and tonight the CNL team will be attending the ONREC awards dinner as finalist.
We have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Technical Innovation category. We normally enter with a client but this award recognises the incredible effort of our internal team to produce the most innovative online recruitment system on the market in the UK. The technology is state of the art, the functionality is rich and highly flexible and the look and feel of the whole system is modern and extremely appealing to users.
How do we know this? Well our clients have told us and so have companies who see it for the first time. It is normal practice for companies to see a few "suppliers" when selecting a recruitment system and without exception we get the feedback that ours is the most up to date, appealing, feature rich and modern. All very good news for us as we continue to add big brands to our client list.
So tonight is a very big "thank you" to the team for all your hard work and dedication. The champagne will be well deserved and whether we win or not we will come away in the knowledge that we do have THE best solution on the market. Just ask any of our clients!

Recruiting the right people gains customer approval for Waterstones Booksellers
We were thrilled to see that Waterstones currently tops the leader board on the Mary Portas Secret Shopper List of ‘The Best Shops in Britain’. Based on an aggregate score of comments left by real customers it’s clear to see that employees at Waterstones really know how to deliver brand enhancing customer service.
How do they do it? Their starting point is to recruit and select the best people and they pay close attention to something often overlooked in recruitment: fit for the job ie will candidates love doing what the job requires of them. For Waterstones that means living their hugely customer service oriented values.
With help from Changeworknow, their online recruitment process has been custom designed to help candidates assess themselves against the important skills needed to do the job AND those all important behaviours or motivations.
Anyone may be able to operate a cash register; but not everyone does it with a genuine smile, a passion for the product and a sense of satisfaction that the customer has got what they want.
By having on online process that highlights those candidates who are a good fit against skills AND motivations, the quality of hires has really improved and it’s the customer’s who are benefitting and going out of their way to vote them number one!
Now that’s got to be good for business.
